Legalett Slab


Legalett concept was made to eliminate dampness coming into the building. Due to this the construction of foundation was combined with floor heating system. The unique construction of the slab with its ability to absorb energy, protects the building from dampness and provides an even, comfortable healthy indoor climate and the lower costs of exploatation.

 

LEGALETT slab is the leading solution combining a mould protected foundation with a safe floor heating system.

Legalett is entirely Swedish, patented system. The basic knowledge about moisture in home building was insufficient and therefore an optimum construction slab was made to eliminate the physical causes of arising moisture and mould from the ground. The idea of combining soundation with the air floor heating heating system received a positive opinion of SITAC Institiute in Boverket, Sweeden and Instytut Techniki Budowlanej ITB in Poland. The heating foundation slab is the only slab in Poland put directly on the ground, which received the full Technical Approval ITB AT-15-2151/96. Our product is applied in home buildling from over 20 years in many European countries, in Canada and Japan.

PROJECT – COOPERATION WITH THE INVESTOR

Every Legalett slab is prepared individually, depending on the features of the soil and the construction requirements. The base is the documentation with the soli examination and the project with the location of rooms. According to this, the slab with a floor radiant system perfectly fitted to the building  is designed.

The advantage of the slab as a supporting structure is transfering building loads to the ground through the increasing of the surface which allows building on the ground of low bearing capacity or liable to subsidence.  As the slab is founded shallow, without digging, it can be applied on the areas of high level of earth water.

The haeting system, similar to the construction of the slab, is calculated and prepared for each building individually. We take into account the type of the building, the walls, the floor and the ceiling. We base on the 30 years experience of our Swedish founder. We calculate the heating demand for the particular rooms and adjust the heating system to fill the energetic need for each of them separately. We do our best to make the system the most effective and adjusted to the client needs. We are in touch with the investor, the author of the project and the executor during the designing of the project if possible. The project is given to the investor to make him aquaintant with the project and to introduce the eventual remarks. 

When we design the construction of the slab we keep to the binding rules of building houses, hovewer during the designing of the heating system we value the direct contact with the client. Then location of the rooms, the location of the heating central and a thermostat, whether the pantry is to be cool and what temperature one would like to have in the bedroom. Do we plan wide window surfaces or going to dislocate some walls? Our comfort of living depends on that so it is worth to share the remarks and views with the designer of the heating system while being projected and look at it through our plans, demands and convenience.

Legalett heating system is not a common solution which opens new possibilities for the user. This is the least defective floor heating system. Warm air is distributed in pipes sunk in the slab. The pipes make a close circuit under the surface of the building. The heated slab of the building is working as a heating battery, which gives as much energy as it is needed at the particular time. There is no danger of water leakages or the  freezing of water instalation. The slab works as a base heatinh for the whole building. The temperature may be governed in each of the room separately. The distribution of temperature is close to the ideal because it of the physiology of a human body: our feet are warmer, whwereas the temperature is lower on the level of the head.

 The heatinhg slab allows to save the under window surface free from heaters and provides a comfortable indoor temperature. The servise of the system is very simple - it is just the operating on a thermostat in the heated room.

Zbrojenie: siatki zgrzewane z prętów stalowych

Izolacja termiczna: twarde płyty styropianowe (EPS, XPS, Hydro) ułożone bezpośrednio na podłożu (gr. izolacji wg projektu, standardowo od 20 cm).

Application:

The heating slab may be applied in any kind of building from one stroey, multistorey houses

( villas, detached houses, semi-detached houses, bungalows, terraced houses ) to public buildings ( kindergartens, schools, churches, stores, halls, industrial buildings) and others.

 

 

Advantages:

  • Two in one - one investment gives the owner of a building the foundation and the heating system for the whole building at the same time
  • Short time of installation from 4 to 7 days and the possibility to settle the biulding on difficult ground conditions
  • The application of the heating during the building process provides quick drying of concrete and plaster and prevents mildew and moisture
  • The slab has the ability to accumulate heat in the foundation slab which, by using the night tariff, provides electric energy saving even to 20% in comaprison to the traditional heating systems
  • The source of heat in the slab eliminates the lost of heat coming from its transfering
  • The use of air as the carrier of the heating energy rejects the leakage of water and the freezing of water installation, provides comfortable temperature of a floor ( from 21 to 24'C ) and the absence of convection currents of the air eliminates air pollution by allergens
  • LEGALETT may work as a separate heating system with the traditional foundation.

Szczególnie narażone na zawilgocenie są narożniki pomieszczeń pokrywające się z narożem budynku zlokalizowanym od północnej lub wschodniej strony. Konieczność izolowania termicznego fundamentów dotyczy również budynków wielorodzinnych. W tych budynkach ściany piwniczne zazwyczaj znajdują się wyżej ponad gruntem oraz głębiej w gruncie niż ściany budynków jednorodzinnych. Dlatego szczególnie tam powinno się stosować właściwą izolację termiczną.

Duża powierzchnia ścian piwnicznych to również potencjalna duża powierzchnia stanowiąca mostek termiczny. To także duża strata związana z kosztami ogrzewania. Stratę tę ponoszą wszyscy lokatorzy budynku. Zawilgocone i źle zaizolowane fundamenty to także szybszy czas ich degradacji i w efekcie kosztowne remonty.
